Minecraft 1.20 added a new biome, but it is pretty hard to find. So, today we explore an updated list of the top five rarest Minecraft Biomes in Trails & Tails to save a little time.
Cherry Grove
Added in Minecraft 1.20, Cherry Groves are a small biome that occasionally generates on the first layer of mountains. Players who come across one will see pink trees that drop petals, pink flowers scattered across the ground, and light green grass. In other words, the most beautiful biome around!
Bamboo Jungle
When exploring jungles, players can sometimes find a rare variant hidden inside. Instead of the typical bush-covered jungle, it is a forest of bamboo among the trees. These are also the jungles where pandas most commonly spawn.
Eroded Badlands
Badlands are already hard to find, so would you believe there is an even rarer kind? Eroded badlands are covered by narrow spires of terracotta rising from a land of otherwise orange sand. For a real-life example, Bryce Canyon in Utah, USA, was its inspiration! How cool is that?
Ice Spikes
Far to the north, players will sometimes find a unique and spikey biome. Here packed ice spikes cover the landscape of otherwise barren snow. Each spike can vary, with some being small while others are almost fifty blocks tall. If spotted, remember Ice Spike biomes are the best source of packed ice around!
Mushroom Fields
Finally, the rarest biome is a land of mushrooms where fungi grow like trees and mycelium devours all that’s green. Mushroom fields as they are officially deemed! They can take a while to find and generate most commonly as islands out at sea. Keep an eye out for Mooshroom cows, as this is the only place they are seen.
