Mojang has been dabbling into all kinds of food lately, and as of this past week, that includes forty Minecraft inspired recipes available on the Amazon store! So, today we explore the official Minecraft cookbook, first impressions, and even two free recipes.
The Official Minecraft Cookbook – Overview
The Official Minecraft Cookbook titled “Minecraft: Gather, Cook, Eat!” includes over forty Minecraft inspired recipes by the talented Tara Theoharis. If that name sounds familiar, you may know her from her other cookbooks or blog, “The Geeky Hostess.”
Those seeking to craft these blocky meals will find step-by-step instructions perfect for beginners and veterans alike. And for big fans of the game, that includes signature items such as suspicious stew.
First Impressions
“Minecraft: Gather, Cook, Eat!” has only been out for a short time, but the initial reviews are doing quite well! The recipes are fun, interesting, and most importantly, delicious, according to various reviewers. However, the cookbook is not without its complaints either.
One fan stated their disappointment through a three-star rating, stating that while the cookbook has many great Minecraft inspired recipes, it lacks recipes for the foods actually found in game. Examples given were bread, steak, pork chops, and mutton.
Overall, it looks to be worth the investment.
The Official Minecraft Cookbook – Demo Recipes
Celebrating the release of “Minecraft: Gather, Cook, Eat!” Mojang has released two of the forty recipes for free! The first is a beautiful salad titled “Forest Garden Greens” that is complete in five minute’s time. The second is “Blocks of Clay Fudge,” which is exactly as its name describes. However, the surprise is that they taste more like cookies and cream than clay.
Those seeking to try out both of these fantastic recipes can find them on the official cookbook release post here.
A Book’s End
First, it was ice cream, and now an entire cookbook! What food-based ventures await Minecraft next?
