Yesterday, the official Minecraft X (formally Twitter) account asked the community what opinions would leave them surrounded by swords, and the community answered with countless tweets that sounded more like roars! So, today, we explore the Minecraft community’s most unpopular opinions of 2024.
General Criticisms
The first thing fans were quick to share were their criticisms, and there were many! Some of the most liked included Bedrock being too buggy for being a flagship title, content updates not being as exciting as they used to be, and “100 days” videos being what ruined the Minecraft let’s play genre.
In-Game Opinions
Jumping over to unpopular opinions within the game itself, fans did not hold back with many serious replies alongside an equal number that were funny. However, one in particular caused quite the discussion! “The experimental villager changes are better for the game,” to paraphrase the original author, who received over 40 replies.
Other popular posts included an unexplained dislike of Axolotls by Opera GX (which they quickly withdrew,) a desire for the return of 1.8 combat, and glow squids being the best mobs, according to a few.
We even joined in with an opinion of our own, and we stand by it, too! There is no bad block in Minecraft, as it all depends on how they are used.
Minecraft Versus
The final category we saw in broad numbers was fans arguing about one thing being better than another. These included Java Edition versus Bedrock Edition, vanilla Minecraft versus modded Minecraft, and even survival versus creative. Which teams would you join if you had to?
The Minecraft Community’s Most Unpopular Opinions
Overall, this one post by Mojang brought forth an abundance of discussion, which likely resulted in good feedback as well. It’s always an interesting experience to explore the ideas and opinions of fellow Minecraft fans! Was there a particular comment you agreed with or even posted yourself?
