Countless brands are joining hands with Minecraft to give blocky DLCs a try, and Sonic is no exception! One year ago, the Sonic DLC debuted, and just this past week, the official Sonic texture pack launched too. So, today we explore the Minecraft Sonic texture pack, how the DLC holds up a year down the line, and how you too can give them both a try.
Minecraft: Sonic DLC
The classic Sonic experience is beloved by many, and to much surprise, the Minecraft DLC was quite faithful! Blocky variations of fan-favorite locations made an appearance, multiple characters were completely playable, and sonic skins could even be used outside the DLC.
Those interested in trying it out now will find it has held up very well and offers all one would expect from an official Sonic title.
Minecraft: Sonic Texture Pack
Perhaps due to the Sonic DLC’s resounding success, Sonic and friends have returned once more, but this time in texture pack form! This high-quality texture pack changes up every block and mob to sonic variations, ranging from robot creepers of Doctor Eggman’s creation to Chao Allay.
Fans of the Sonic series will find just about everything they could hope for, and combined with the previously released Sonic skins, it is immersive as can be. Don’t forget to pick up the free character creator Sonic hoodie before it is gone!
Is Sonic in Java Edition?
Sadly, both the DLC and texture pack are bedrock edition exclusives. Those seeking to try either out will need to download Bedrock Edition and make their way to the marketplace.
Minecraft Sonic Texture Pack Announced
Sonic is as popular as ever, and the sonic-related content in Minecraft just keeps getting better! Perhaps if this texture pack does well, we will see a second Sonic DLC announced.
