Details & Release Date
Minecraft 1.20 Trails & Tails releases globally on June 7th, 2023. Until that time, the final testing stage continues in the form of release candidates. These offer all the features of Minecraft 1.20 in their finished state alongside last-minute bug fixes before the official release takes place.

How to Install Minecraft 1.20 Release Candidate 1
Installing Minecraft 1.20 Release Candidate 1 on Java Edition begins right inside the Minecraft client. First, open the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the ‘Installations’ tab. Second, click “New Installation,” select “Latest Snapshot” in the drop-down menu, and then click create. The new Pre-Release installation will now be a selectable option before clicking play!
Please note release candidates can corrupt worlds! Ensure backups have been taken.
