For as long as Minecraft has existed, a mysterious figure has been rumored to watch from the forest outside of player towns. His skin is like Steve’s, his eyes white as can be, and if unknown structures are spotted, it is best to turn and leave. Today we answer the question, is Herobrine real?
What is Herobrine?
Made popular through a fan-made horror story, Herobrine is said to be an evil spirit that haunts players’ worlds. He will grief, harm players, and even build structures, but most sightings are of Herobrine simply watching. He has gone on to appear in an abundance of fan-made content and is often “removed” from the game in official patch notes by Mojang. But this brings us to the question, is Herobrine real?
Is Herobrine Real?
As fun as the legend is, Herobrine is not found within vanilla Minecraft. Fans have even searched through Minecraft’s files finding no reference to Herobrine in the code or any mobs that would function as the rumors describe. Herobrine is, sadly, not real.
How to Add Herobrine to Minecraft
Herobrine may not be in vanilla Minecraft, but he can still be added through third-party means! The Legend of Herobrine is a fabric mod that adds Herobrine to the game exactly as the rumors describe him. Watch out for the fog, don’t go out at night, and it is best not to go near that “player” who has been watching from the forest since last night. Those up to the challenge can even summon him for the ultimate boss fight!
A Modded Adventure Begins
Herobrine is an iconic part of the Minecraft community that showcases its boundless and unrivaled creativity. However, wouldn’t it be neat if Mojang one day added Herobrine without saying anything?
