Vaults are brimming with loot that every player needs, but to access them, one needs a key! So, today, we explain step by step how to unlock Vaults in Minecraft 1.21, and it is easier than it may seem!
Trial Keys
Unlocking a Vault in Minecraft 1.21 requires an item called a Trial Key. This nifty key is granted as a common reward for clearing Trial Spawners, meaning there is only a short grind ahead. Once obtained, right-click a Vault with the Trial Key, and rewards will soon be in hand.
However, should an Ominous Vault be found, an Ominous Trial Key will be needed instead.
Ominous Trial Keys
Ominous Trial Keys are granted from Ominous Trial Spawners, which only appear in the optional Trial Chamber hard mode. Players seeking to take on this challenge will first need to drink the contents of an Ominous Bottle to gain the Bad Omen status effect. Ominous Bottles drop from Pillager Raids and Vaults.
Once consumed, enter a Trial Chamber, and the Trial Spawners will become their ominous variants with a brand-new loot table, which includes Ominous Trial Keys.
Finding Ominous Vaults
Ominous Vaults are a rare variant of Vaults that occasionally generate within Trial Chambers. Unlike regular Vaults, they have a lighter color scheme with distinct red eyes and a decorative diamond base. There is no guarantee that an Ominous Vault will be present within a Trial Chamber, but by exploring multiple, one will be found eventually.
How to Unlock Vaults in Minecraft 1.21
Unlocking an Ominous Vault will put combatants to the test, but with some good gear, the additional enemies are quickly put to rest. We hope our guide has helped in your adventure, and may your Vault loot be only the best!
