The nether is a frightening place, but the piglins inside don’t have to be! Today we explain how to trade with piglins in Minecraft while gaining their trust along the way.
Trading Preparations
Before venturing into the nether to trade with piglins, a few steps must first be taken. Start by gathering up all your gold. Piglins only accept gold bars so you will need plenty. Second, use some of that gold to craft one piece of gold armor. Piglins are hostile to players unless they have one piece of gold armor equipped.
Finally, collect your standard nether precautions. Items like fire resist armor, fire resist potions, and some weapons too. With that, create a portal and head on through.
Finding Piglins
Piglins spawn naturally within the nether wastes and crimson forest biomes. Bastions that have not yet been cleared will also have quite a few. Thankfully, nether wastes and crimson forests biomes are common, making them easy to find by just wandering about.
Before finding Piglins, keep in mind that a few varying actions can make them hostile despite your gold armor. Opening chests near them, including those you place, will make them think you are stealing. Breaking gold blocks of any kind will make them angry as well.
However, even in the worst caser scenario, piglins still trade when angry. Just be ready to defend yourself!
Trading with Piglins
Once Piglins have been found, simply drop a gold ingot in front of them, and they will pick it up. After a few seconds, they should drop an item in return. Baby piglins will also pick up the gold you drop, but they give nothing in return and simply run away.
