Nothing is scarier than the thundering steps of a ravager, especially if ridden! But does this terrifying mob have a taming method that still remains hidden? Today we answer the question of how to tame ravagers in Minecraft 1.20.
What Is a Ravager?
Ravagers are large hostile mobs that spawn alongside illagers during raids. They attack by biting, let out damaging roars, and can even break blocks to find villagers hiding indoors. Perhaps scariest of all is that a crossbow-wielding pillager could also be sitting on top.
In terms of lore, fan theories regarding ravagers can be rather dark, but their true origin remains unconfirmed.
How to Tame Ravagers
As of Minecraft 1.20 Trails & Tales, ravagers can not be tamed through any vanilla methods. They are an entirely hostile mob, never friendly towards anyone but their fellow illagers. But not all fans agree and have done away with such restrictions through third-party means.
Ravage & Cabbage
Over on Curseforge, a user named superlord_9362 created one of the most popular Ravager mods around. Titled Ravage & Cabbage, this mod not only allows ravagers to be ridden and tamed but milked as well.
The mod additionally adds a new type of pillager called cabbager, a new cabbage crop, and baby ravagers. These features are found in cabbager barns that generate naturally out in the world. But be careful! This mod makes it so unsuspecting villagers can be turned into ravagers too.
Those with Ravage & Cabbage installed can tame baby ravagers using ravager milk obtained by right-clicking adult ravagers with a bucket.
Bedrock Edition Options
Unfortunately, a Bedrock Edition mod for taming ravagers once existed, but it is now severely outdated. If a new mod or update is released, we will adjust this guide to provide a proper showcase. But at this time, it is sadly not possible for Bedrock Edition to tame Ravagers, even through third-party means.
How to Tame Ravages in Minecraft 1.20
Ravagers are one of the most interesting hostile mobs in the game, so it is a shame they can’t normally be tamed. However, we hope our short guide has helped in achieving that dream through third-party means.
