Entering the Nether
Before a player can begin their nether adventure, a portal must be made. This requires ten obsidian alongside flint & steel to light the way.
- Place two obsidian on the ground with a dirt block on either side.
- Stack three obsidian on top of each dirt block.
- Place one dirt block on top of each pillar.
- Place the final two obsidian between the two dirt blocks.
Once complete, the portal should be an obsidian frame with a three by two open space inside that can be ignited with flint & steel.
How to Find Netherite Ore (Ancient Debris)
Netherite ore, or ancient debris as it is called in-game, generates most commonly on layer y = 15. Those on Java Edition can see coordinates by clicking F3, while Bedrock Edition players will need to enable the coordinates through their client.

How to Find Netherite Ore Using TNT
Ancient debris has a very high resistance to explosions, making it safe to use TNT. This is best achieved by digging a long tunnel along y = 15 and placing TNT close enough together to cause a chain reaction of explosions. The result is your very own nether cave to walk through in search of Ancient Debris.
Because it is the nether, the cheaper alternative of beds is also possible, but this is much more dangerous, especially without blast protection armor. If this method is being used, be sure to click the bed from as far away as possible to minimize damage.
