Allays are a mob like non-other! They stay by your side, pick up items while you mine, and dance to music discs to pass the time. So, today we answer how to find allay in Minecraft 1.20. They’re worth the journey!
Preparing to Find Allay
Finding an allay requires an adventure fraught with danger. This is because allay only spawn in the jails of woodland mansions and pillager outposts. Players taking up this quest must be prepared to fight multiple pillagers, vindicators, and evokers or have alternative methods for getting around them.
We personally recommend ranged options for dealing with them, but those who prefer quieter methods could use an invisibility potion to bypass the challenge.

How to Find Allay
As previously mentioned, allay spawn in the jails of woodland mansions and pillager outposts. Both of these can be hard to find, and sadly, allay are not guaranteed to be in each one.
Those looking for pillager outposts will have the best luck searching in biomes that can also generate a village. They typically appear once every several hundred to couple thousand blocks.
As for those looking for woodland mansions, we are sad to say they will be even more challenging to find. They generate thousands of blocks from spawn and only appear within dark forest biomes which are filled with mobs.
In the case of bad luck, the “/locate structure” command can always be used to get the exact coordinates. Whether this is considered cheating or not remains up to you.
Duplicating Allay
When an allay has been found and returned to your base, they can be duplicated through official methods in game. To do so, players will need one jukebox, music disc, and amethyst shard. Then, while the music disc is playing, hand the amethyst shard to Allay. This will cause the first allay to turn into two!
How to Find Allay in Minecraft 1.20
Allay is truly one of a kind until an amethyst shard is given while music is playing, that is. Do you use your allay for any unique contraptions, or are they purely a nearby friend and companion? In either case, don’t forget to give them cookies!
