Minecraft Live has come and gone but not without giving us a mountain of new content to explore! So, today, we review all the content announced at Minecraft Live 2024, alongside movie details and more.
Bundles of Bravery Drop
The first update that was shared was the Bundles of Bravery drop, which will soon be live. For Bedrock Edition players, this exciting update includes Java Edition’s beloved hardcore mode, where one death ends the world, forcing spectator mode so it can only be viewed as a ghost.
Then, for both editions, bundles will finally be added, complete with a new recipe made of items that are much easier to find. Bundles allow multiple item types to share a single inventory space so long as their total is no more than 64.
Pale Garden Drop
Following Bundles of Bravery, an unnamed game drop was revealed, showcasing the pale garden biome and the hostile creaking that calls it home. The pale garden will be an eerily silent biome which adds a new pale white wood set alongside pale carpet moss, and the creaking is a mob, which acts as a puppet for the creaking heart block that can generate within pale oak trees.
Until the creaking heart is destroyed or daylight breaks, the creaking will pursue the player whenever they look away. But, thankfully, hitting the creaking will show where the creaking heart hides so it can be chopped, burned, or gathered with silk touch to bring home and display.
A Minecraft Movie
Finally, we had an exciting look behind the scenes of the Minecraft movie, including the team’s reasoning for the movie being live-action rather than animated. They wanted to do something within the Minecraft space that had never before been seen. We were also shown the cast enjoying Minecraft in their own time, including Jack Black, who will be playing Steve. Hopefully, the movie is as good as they made it sound during the livestream!
